Celebrate the Santa Maria del Mare festival.

Bosa has still it’s traditional festivals and one of them is ‘Santa Maria del Mare’, which is de translation of ‘Sant Maria of the sea’.

Every year the first Sunday of August the Santa Maria del Mare festival is celebrated, what means that a statue of Santa Maria is being accompanied from the church to the cathedral by boat. The boats are decorated with flags, canes and flowers and make their wat among the Temo river. In the afternoon the river is filled with tourists and locals who can see the statue of Santa Maria returning to the church of Santa Maria del Mare.

At night the town is celebrating the festival with local food, folk events, and fireworks. If you are vising Bosa in the first week of August, you definitely must celebrate this festive.
